A Night at the (Royal) Opera (House)

by Footlights Team on May 15, 2019
Oh what a night. We were so lucky to be able to attend the ROH in Covent Garden, to watch Romeo & Juliet last Saturday. It was magical. MacMillans choreography, together with the surreal technique of the dancers, captured the youth, the playfulness, the romance and the tragedy perfectly. We were swept away by the whole performance. We all know it was created for Fonteyn & Nureyev, but really I cant imagine a better performance than we saw. And better still, there is a live streaming of it, starring our home grown Matthew Ball as Romeo, being shown at FACT cinema in June. Don't miss it.
